letters to my sister | Anxious One

Anxious One,
New beginnings fill the air. The waves of change are so strong that you can actually feel them. You're hopeful. You're excited. You're afraid.
Change has a way of doing that.
It wraps us up in anticipation and uneasiness. The unknown can be both terrifying and exhilarating. It's ok to have those feelings of fear. Just don't give in to them to the point that they hinder you from pressing into your destiny.
John Lennon is famous for saying "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans". This is a lesson I've learned time and time again. Despite meticulous planning I've seen God bring me in the complete opposite direction. Despite being radically unqualified I've seen God make a way.
In both instances I've looked back and seen how perfectly my life experiences shaped me for each role. That is because He has a plan for me that is greater than one I could ever make for myself and as His daughter the same is true for you.
So rest…
…rest in the fact that society's definitions of success or failure have no power over you. There is no right or wrong way to approach this new season as long as you keep God first. Listen to His voice even when it doesn't seem to make logical sense and just enjoy the journey. He's got you.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
