Meet Jess | First off: Happy Birthday to my beautiful best friend Cassandra! I am excited to be a guest blogger for her birthday week!

Here’s a little about me:

Are you an early bird or a night owl? I am definitely a night owl. Being a “grown up” and having to wake up at 6:30 every day has tried to force me into being an early bird, but it hasn’t worked! I would prefer to stay up late at night and am usually the most productive and creative in the hours when I should be sleeping!
Describe your perfect day… My perfect day would be full of activities! I’m not one to sit around doing nothing! I would start with brunch with friends at one of my favorite places. It would have to be a place where I could sit outside on the patio and take my pomapoo Sadie! {One perfect brunch day at Triangle in Mt. Pleasant, SC we even met Darius Rucker!} The day would also include time at the beach (where I would spend a few hours reading), shopping, a long walk with Sadie, and time spent doing something around town with friends!

What's the best advice you've ever received? I have been given so much positive advice over the years , it is hard to choose the BEST advice. One of my favorite pieces of advice is “Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” This is really important for me to remember at times!

In honor of Cassandra’s birthday, my post takes a look at fun and affordable birthday (or any time) gifts for friends. My friends have been so important in my life so I like to give them fun gifts when I can!

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity
Proverbs 17:17

#1: With friends moving all over the country, it’s nice to have something to remind you of your home state! Whether your friend was born somewhere else, recently moved, or has a close friend in another state, this is the perfect way to keep it close to your heart! Find one here: http://www.dogeared.com/necklaces-state-of-mind#start=24&sz=12

#2: Perfect for your friends with a four-legged best pal! Simply send in a photo of the beloved pet and www.popyourpup.com will turn the photo into a color inspired shirt!

#3: You can never have too many candles to keep your room smelling good and these candles from http://www.bellaj.com/ all include a charm buried in the candle. Some charms are worth $10,000! Now that is a friendship charm!

#4: If any of you are like me, you are always wearing hair ties on your wrist, which is not always a flattering look! These hair ties from http://www.lollieshairties.com/ look nice and do the job! They are also made from recycled swim suit material! The company is committed to raising money for female athletes, which is something we can all admire.

#5: Need to send a quick gift or want your friend to receive something in the mail? I love these $5 cookie cards from http://www.cheryls.com/cheryls-cookie-greeting#collectionSubproduct2 ! Who doesn’t love a good cookie?

#6: I just HAD to include something from www.betseyjohnson.com . I have always been a fan of her jewelry, especially the watches!

#7: What is better than the gift that keeps on giving? There are so many fun subscription boxes, such as https://www.birchbox.com/ and most of them can be purchased as a gift subscription!
